Associate Attorney Position
Associate wanted to join fast growing estate and farm succession planning practice located in Peru, Indiana. This position involves a supporting role in the comprehensive planning process for high net worth farm families with sophisticated operations. Responsibilities include attending client meetings, drafting estate planning documents and client communications, drafting business entity governing documents with a focus on buy-sell agreements, and working with clients’ other advisors to implement plans.
A qualified candidate should be a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail, strong academic credentials, exceptional organization, and exceptional written and oral communication skills. An interest in the ever-changing landscape of gift and estate taxation will be important. A background in agriculture would be ideal, but not required. The right candidate will have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other attorneys and staff in a small firm. This position is a good fit for a young attorney with a desire to be mentored by a partner and senior associate invested in his or her growth as a lawyer with a goal of a long-term shared career. After a period of training, flexible remote working arrangements may be available.
A doctor of jurisprudence degree from an accredited law school and an active Indiana state bar license is required before starting employment as an attorney, but this position is open to current law students sitting for the July bar exam. We offer a competitive compensation package and salary is commensurate with experience.
