About Polly Dobbs

Biography

As the founding partner of Dobbs & Folz, LLC, Polly focuses her practice in estate and wealth transfer planning, and business succession planning. Polly’s Bachelor’s degree is from Ball State University.  She received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kelley School of Business, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Polly’s passion lies with helping family-owned farms and closely held businesses achieve a smooth succession. Having grown up on a farm, she understands the unique issues facing farm families. She has extensive experience in farm succession planning, and is knowledgeable in the complexities and tax implications of estate planning for those with closely held businesses and high net worth estates.

Polly helps clients to efficiently transfer their assets to the next generation in a way that promotes family harmony and addresses their specific goals, while treating family members fairly, even though not necessarily equally.

She uses many sophisticated estate and gift planning strategies while working with her clients to achieve wealth preservation, understand probate and trust administration, give federal and state tax advice, and with matters relating to business organization, business succession planning, and general business and corporate transactions.

Polly a member of the Farm Journal Legacy Project Advisory Team. She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Miami County Bar Association, and the Cass County Bar Association.  Her civic and charitable involvements include the following: Chair Person of the Miami County Economic Development Authority, President of the Dukes Health Care Foundation, Inc., Member of the Ball State University Philanthropic Advisory Council, and the Planned Giving Subcommittee of Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.
